- Salt and freshly ground black pepper

- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

- Fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary) for garnish

 Instructions:

1. **Prepare the steaks**

In a heavy skillet or cast iron skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

4. **Cook the steak**

Carefully place the steak into the hot skillet. Cook without moving for about 2-3 minutes per side. Turn the steak and add oil to the pan. When the oil melts, drink it with a steak and throw it away.

5. **Check for doneness**

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes for medium-rare or until the desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (130 ° F on a rare average).

6. **Rest the steak**

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

7. **Serve**

Cut steaks across the grain and serve immediately, garnished with fresh herbs.
